Dr. Archie Mntambo Hellar
Public Health Specialist & Dedicated Community Advocate

Dr. Archie Mntambo Hellar is a Public Health Specialist with extensive experience in medical practice, research, and administration. He holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from Wroclaw Medical Academy, Poland, and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from MUHAS, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

With over 16 years of leadership experience as a District and Municipal Medical Officer, Dr. Hellar has successfully overseen public health planning, budgeting, and resource management across various districts in Tanzania. He also served as a Hospital Medical Officer in Charge at Shinyanga Regional Referral Hospital and Kilwa District Hospital, where he managed healthcare services and staff.

In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Hellar is a dedicated advocate for community development, particularly in improving the lives of children, women, and families. As a committed board member of DreamBig Initiative, he actively contributes his expertise and leadership to support the organization’s mission of uplifting underprivileged households. Dr. Hellar is passionate about advancing education, promoting healthy living, and ensuring access to healthcare for marginalized groups.

A passionate researcher, Dr. Hellar has also contributed to clinical trials with the Gate Malaria Partnership, focusing on anti-malaria interventions for children under five. Now retired, he continues to dedicate himself to improving public health systems, empowering women, and fostering impactful community-driven solutions.
